Personal: Birutė Jonuškaitė
Birutė Jonuškaitė born on October 5th, 1959 in Poland, Seinai region. In 1978 graduatedlyceum of Punsk and pass into Vilnius University to study journalism. In 1983, graduated university, came back to Poland, worked in Suvalkai region weekly “Krajobrazy” and in Lithuanian’s national minority publication “Aušra“. Later she was a spokeswoman assistant in Suvalkai region.
In 1985 came to live with husband in Lithuania. Lived in Ukmergė, worked in region museum of Ukmergė as youngest academic associate, later- Cultural house supervisor for print. In this period, she didn‘t get a job by specalisation because of polish nationality.
In 1990 moved to Canada with all family. The second daughter born in this country. Whenshe returns into Lithuania she locates in Vilnius. In 1994 she started to work in editorial office of “Šeima“ as editress. In 1995-2002 she became a general editress. From 2003 December till now she is Lithuanian Writers' Union chairman’s assistant.
She writes prose, publications, assay and poems.
